It rests on a black marble base.

The statue shows Hercules resting after his Twelve Labours, leaning on his club from which the skin of the Nemean Lion is hanging.
In the classical period, his role as saviour of mankind was emphasised, however he also had mortal flaws, such as lust and greediness.
It is in excellent condition overall.
