Alfred Boucher (1850-1934) was a French sculptor who joined the School of Fine Arts in 1869 (a pupil of Dubois). He worked in Rome and Paris, and this sculpture is probably the one entitled 'Aux champs', which was exhibited at the Salon in 1897. All his works are characterized by their naturalism, (Art nouveau current) he created the home ‘La Ruche’ in 1902 where so many great artists went...(source “Les bronzes du XIXème” by Mr KJELLBERG). “La Faneuse” is in particular kept in the museums of Besançon. A. Boucher, late 19th-early 20th century cast presented on a ‘grand mélange’ marble base, height 33 cm, diameter 13 cm
