Jewellery Cabinet obtained from an antique Sewing Table, dating back to the late 1800s/early 1900s, completely hand-carved in fine mahogany wood. The cabinet consists of 3 drawers and one compartment/container in the top part. This compartment opens by lifting the lid and is equipped with a framed mirror. The body of the cabinet is completely decorated with carvings, made by master craftsmen of the time, with floral motifs and country scenes. The cabinet features iron side-handles, which make it easy to move around. Please, take a close look at the details in the pictures, which show the beautiful decorations all over the cabinet and particularly on the lid; the details make this cabinet a unique piece of furniture. All the drawers can be removed (as pictured), the internal parts are lined with contemporary fabric, both fabrics and mirror are original; the same goes for the hinges, in excellent condition. Unique piece, from a private collection, purchased in the 1980s from a Tuscan antique dealer. In an excellent state of preservation, it only shows small signs of ageing on the original materials. Only the nails that secure the legs of the cabinet need to be slightly fixed, as they have come a little loose over time. Pictures show the item in detail and are an integral part of this description.
