Published in Paris, by Charles Moette, etc., 1741.

Two quarto volumes (19.5 x 25 cm). Early 19th century bindings in full leather, spine richly adorned, red morocco title label on the spine, beautiful copy, the binding of the second volume has a piece of leather missing on the headcap.

Volume 1: 16 ff (title with engraved vignette, preface, table of contents, alphabetical table, catalogue of authors cited, approval, privilege, errata, additions and corrections); 175 p. (+ 1 p. bl.) + 50 plates/

Volume 2: 1 f. (title with engraved vignette). (176-) to 400, illustrations with engraved headers and end of chapter, 41 plates (illustration of 91 engraved plates).

Following Volume 2: Eclaircissement sur l’invention, la théorie, la construction et les épreuves des nouvelles machines proposées en France, pour la détermination des longitudes en mer par la mesure du temps.
